Adam Epstein set up The Family Mediation Initiative in order to help people by deploying skills he had developed over a long career. Adam is an expert and empathetic listener, with a real expertise in shaping guided discussions based on the issues arising.
Prior to becoming a family mediator, Adam was for many years a senior partner at a large law firm, where he acted predominantly for individuals in situations of high stress. It was there that he honed the skills that he brings as a family mediator. Recognised for many years in the legal directories as a leading individual in his field, this included praise for his high emotional intelligence. He is very financially literate.
Also relevant to his skills as a family mediator, Adam is the Chair of a well-established charity (working with survivors of torture and trafficking). As Chair, a key skill is to listen and to distil the relevant issues, enabling Board members to come to joint decisions they are comfortable with.
Adam is trained as a family mediator, and is registered with the Family Mediation Council, who he is working towards accreditation with. All his co-mediators are accredited. He is a member of the Family Mediators Association.
Adam says "I am deeply committed to family mediation and take a huge pride in my role. I only wish that more people were aware of family mediation and how it can help them and their children move on positively with their lives."
